I am teacher Mercer. I have been teaching English for about 7 years. I have bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Law, and I am certified to teach English to speakers of other languages and to young learners (TESOL+TEYL). I am very experienced, and able to support and guide my students, children and adults, on their English journey. I can adapt my teaching style, tempo, and difficulty to accommodate the needs of my students. Every student learns at their own pace, I am patient, supportive, and present in the moment to guide the student through their learning experience.

In my humble opinion, British English sounds better. The Queen’s English (perfect British English) has a rounder sound, imagine you are talking with a hot potato in your mouth. American English comparatively, has a much flatter, nasal sound (the sound emanates from your nose).
Vocabulary, syntax, and exposure to English content are key parts to focus on. Once you’ve learned some vocabulary and how a basic English sentence works and sounds like (syntax), learning grammar becomes significantly easier. Attentive exposure to audible English content such as audiobooks, movies, and especially music since it helps with phonetics (the sounds of words and letters), helps with pronunciation.

One of my happiest memories was a spontaneous road trip with my closest friends. We decided to hit the road without any particular destination in mind, just craving adventure. As we drove through picturesque countryside, laughter and music filled the air. Along the way, we stumbled upon a hidden lake and spent the afternoon swimming and sunbathing. In the evening, we gathered around a campfire, roasting marshmallows and sharing stories until the stars adorned the sky. It was a perfect blend of freedom, friendship, and nature's beauty that I will cherish forever.
