Hi! My name is Melissa and I am from Plymouth in UK. I live in Spain where I teach English to different ages and levels. I have been teaching for 8 years now and I have a degree in Humanities and Spanish, PGCE, a Master’s in Montessor education, and a TEFL. I work with local businesses and the University with the aim of improving their fluency and pronunciation. With my younger learners, I make the classes creative and interesting so that English can be a joy to learn for them. I am patient and interested in people so I enjoy very much having the opportunity to meet students and build a rapport with them. I hope to see you in my class some time soon!

I find that British English is much clearer than American English. In general, it is more valued because of its eloquence in comparison to American informality and casualness. British English has come from a long evolving history which has made it a rich language full of fun and idiosyncratic expressions.

I adore swimming in the sea, and also here in Spain, it’s possible to swim most of the year. In the Autumn months, it’s possible to see dolphins and I was very fortunate to be swimming not far from a pod of dolphins. I couldn’t believe my luck. It was an absolute pleasure and a memory I will never ever forget!
