My name is Raphael. I am an English teacher and computer programmer. I am a TEFL accredited teacher and have taught in private schools and been a part of Britmates since December 2021. I am a dedicated teacher with tremendous experience in teaching students practical skills. Apart from education I have worked for public companies like HomeAway, Byzen Digital, and Microsoft. And my most senior position was Head of Software and Product Design. I was born in Brazil, but left when I was 3 years old. then I moved to England where I resided there for. Throughout my life I have been to many countries, met many wonderful people, and had amazing experiences. I am also a skateboarder, father, and entrepreneur.

The most important factors in learning English is to use it every day outside of class, not to fear failure, and spend as much time communicating as possible in relation to a wide range of topics.

When I lived in South Africa my uncle and father would to me to the Kalahari, to the protected wildlife reserves to sea the animals in their natural habitat. We stayed in this camp with no fences with a ranger for a few nights, and I remember on the first night. The hyenas were circling our camp “laughing”, you could hear the lions roaring in the distance, while we had dinner and looked at the stars. It was beautiful, scary, exciting, and unforgettable.
